The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has said that Justice is not for sale in Ghana.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie on Monday, November 17, 2025, he urged Ghanaians to recognize that the law applies to everyone, and that no one is above accountability.
“Our citizens must know and feel that justice in Ghana is not for sale and then no one regardless of their power or status it too powerful or too humble to be held accountable under the law,” he stressed.
He also noted that many Ghanaians still find justice to be distant, slow, and a financial burden.
President Mahama emphasized that justice should not only be a matter of fairness but must also be reachable and economical for all citizens.
“Justice must not only be fair and must also be accessible, timely, and must be affordable,” he expressed.
He further added that court adjournment delays in delivering judgement and complex procedures can turn out courtrooms into places of frustrations rather than places of hope.
