The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued a final notice to all owners of temporary structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium that do not conform with the Assembly’s specifications.

In a statement dated Monday, June 29, 2026, KMA directed affected owners to voluntarily remove all such structures on or before Wednesday, July 30.

“On Thursday, 31st July 2026, the Assembly, together with its Security Taskforce, will embark on a massive decongestion exercise,” the notice said.

KMA advised owners of the affected structures to remove all valuable items from them before the exercise.

The Assembly said it has already held several engagements with owners of the structures and other relevant stakeholders, in addition to public notices, to ensure compliance.

“By this release, the KMA strongly advises all owners of these unapproved structures to remove them immediately in their own interest to avoid any loss or damage,” it stated.
