The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect, Victor Biney, alias Abeiku, in connection with a violent robbery attack on a mining site at Sefwi Antobia.
Biney, who was already on the police wanted list for multiple robbery cases, was arrested on Monday, November 17, 2025, following a complaint of an armed robbery attack on the mining site.
According to police reports, seven armed and masked men attacked the miners, assaulting them with cutlasses and stealing gold concentrate and mobile phones.

The police revealed that a search at Biney’s shrine at Attakrom led to the recovery of incriminating items, including a military camouflage shirt, handcuffs, cutlasses, a single-barrel gun, and gold concentrate.
The suspect has admitted ownership of several items, and victims have identified some of the recovered items as those taken during the robbery.

Biney has been remanded into police custody and is expected to reappear in court on Monday, December 8, 2025.
The police are on a manhunt for his accomplices.
