Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings will be laid to rest today, Friday, November 28, in a befitting state funeral.
The solemn state burial is being held in her honour at Independence Square in Accra.
It has drawn government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, political figures, and the general public.
They will honour the memory of the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, who was Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady.
The national farewell follows a requiem mass held on Wednesday at the Accra Ridge Church, where family members, friends, and dignitaries offered tributes that underscored the depth of her contribution to Ghana’s political and social development.
