The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, concluded the Bawku conflict resolution process on Monday, December 1, 2025, after months of sustained efforts.
The mediation, which began in April 2025, is expected to bring an end to the protracted conflict between the Mamprusis and the Kusasis.
In a statement signed by the Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu, it was announced that the final mediation sessions were scheduled for November 30 and December 1.
“Manhyia Palace is pleased to announce that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has scheduled two days, November 30 and December 1, 2025, for what is expected to be the concluding session of his mediation in the Bawku chieftaincy conflict,” the statement read.
On Monday at the Manhyia Palace, representatives of both parties, the Mamprusis and the Kusasis met with the Asantehene amidst tight security.
The Asantehene acknowledged the goodwill and cooperation of the parties and expressed his appreciation.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected, in the coming days and weeks, to brief stakeholders on the progress made during the mediation talks.
