A lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has expressed concern over the trend of removing state officials from office whenever there is a change in government.
He described the practice as one that retards national development and serves as a setback to the country’s growth.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah’s concerns follow recent developments in which nearly 10 petitions have been submitted to President John Dramani Mahama, calling for the dismissal of the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, he suggested that instead of removing the OSP from office, it would have been more prudent to equip him to carry out his duties diligently.
“We shouldn’t scrap OSP but rather find ways to enhance his job and let him continue with his work,” he stated on Angel TV.
He emphasised that the constant removal of state officials disrupts the progress of ongoing projects and investigations, ultimately affecting the country’s development.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah urged politicians to prioritise the nation’s interests over partisan politics, stressing that such practices do not foster national development.
According to the former Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, efforts toward creating a more stable and efficient system should be the objective and focus of leadership.
