Blogger and YouTuber, Dek360 Ghana, has addressed widespread rumors surrounding the funeral of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba, particularly claims about low attendance by artistes and reports that rain disrupted the event.
Speaking in an interview on the Angel Drive show on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Dek explained that several top artistes were initially scheduled to attend and perform but later pulled out due to uncertainty caused by an ongoing court case related to the funeral arrangements.
According to him, Daddy Lumba’s family, in collaboration with rapper Sarkodie, had reached out to some musicians to perform as a surprise at the funeral.
“Daddy Lumba’s family and Sarkodie spoke; he would have come to perform, including Shatta Wale, Medikal and some international icons as a surprise,” Dek said. “But because of the court case, some of them canceled their flights because they thought the funeral wouldn’t come on.”
He further revealed that media personality Serwaa Amihere was also absent for the same reason, as she believed the funeral might be postponed.
“Even Serwaa Amihere couldn’t come because of what happened, because she also thought it wouldn’t come on,” he added.
Dek360 also debunked viral claims that heavy rainfall destroyed parts of Daddy Lumba’s funeral grounds. He clarified that no such incident occurred at the late musician’s funeral.
He explained that a video circulating on social media, which shows rain scattering an event, was wrongly linked to Daddy Lumba’s funeral.
“The rain didn’t destroy anything there. The video being shared is not from Daddy Lumba’s funeral but from the funeral of the late minister of defense, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah,” he stated.
