The Ministry of the Interior has officially announced that Thursday, December 25, Friday, December 26, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026, will be observed nationwide as statutory public holidays.
According to the statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the designated dates coincide with Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day respectively.
“Declaration of Thursday, 25th December, Friday, 26th December 2025 and Thursday, 1st January 2026 as Statutory Public Holidays,” the statement highlighted.
The release, issued on December 19, 2025, reminded the general public that the holidays are to be marked across the country in accordance with Ghana’s statutory provisions.
This declaration ensures that citizens will have the opportunity to celebrate the festive season and usher in the new year with official recognition of these days as holidays.
