The Minister of Interior, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has officially commissioned the Oti Region’s first Passport Application Centre, ending the need for residents to undertake long trips to Accra for passport services.

The new centre aims to eliminate the inconvenient six-hour travel previously required for biometric registration and subsequent passport collection emphasizing that fair access to public services must extend to all 16 regions of Ghana.

“No more inconvenient 6-hour-travels to Accra for biometrics and another trip for pickup.

“Ghanaians in all 16 regions deserve fair access to public services,” he noted.

In a Facebook post made on Monday, December 29, 2025, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa emphasized that services at the facility now include a 30% reduction, e-Tracking, courier delivery, special expedited-same-day-service and delivery under 15-days are all now available in Oti.
