Highlife legend, Obuoba Jackson Alfred Adofo, has revealed that he did not encourage any of his children to venture into music due to the harsh realities of the industry during his active years.
Speaking in an interview with Ohemaa Wojeye on Angel FM, the veteran musician explained that the music industry at the time was not financially rewarding and required more sacrifice than benefit.
“I didn’t want any of my children to do music because during my time, there was no money. We rather sacrificed a lot than gained,” J.A. Adofo said.
According to him, his decision was based on the difficult experiences he endured as a musician, which he did not wish for his children to go through.
He noted that although times have changed, he continues to guide his children using lessons learned from his own journey.
“I always advise them, and if they take my advice, it will help them. They also follow it, and it helps them,” he added.
