The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has put in place comprehensive security arrangements for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
According to the police, adequate personnel have been deployed to all designated voting centres, collation points, and surrounding areas nationwide.
The measures aim to ensure the safety of delegates, party officials, election officials, observers, and the public, as well as protect property.
Police visibility patrols will be intensified, and rapid response teams are on standby.
The Police Service appeals to supporters and the public to cooperate with security personnel and conduct themselves peacefully.
The police administration urges the public to report suspicious activity to officers on duty or call emergency numbers 191 or 112.
