The Kotobabi District Police Command has arrested two suspected street robbers and retrieved several stolen items, including mobile phones and cash, following an intelligence-led patrol operation at Dzorwulu in Accra.
The suspects, identified as Stephen Gletu and Mohammed Sheriff, were arrested on January 14, 2026, after a police patrol team encountered them riding an unregistered Royal Bold 125 motorbike.
A search of the suspects led to the recovery of several stolen mobile phones, a necklace, and cash amounting to GHC 2,690 and $2.
The suspects have admitted to committing the robbery and have confessed to robbing several unsuspecting victims within the Accra Metropolis.
They have been remanded into police custody to assist with ongoing investigations, and four additional accomplices have been arrested and are currently assisting the police.
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public of its continued commitment to combating street robbery and other criminal activities within the Metropolis.
