Ayawaso East Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baba Jamal has refuted allegations that he distributed television sets to secure votes in the election, adding that he was unaware of such distribution until after the elections.
Speaking to the media in the constituency on Monday, February 10, 2026, he reiterated and insisted that his victory was legitimate and fairly earned in the recent constituency by-election.
“I also heard it after the election that some TVs were shared, and now everybody is coming to my office asking for TVs, and I don’t have TV because I haven’t shared TV.
“Actually, do you know the people they’re talking about, I haven’t even seen them, but I know their names,” he disclosed.
He expressed readiness to submit to any investigation necessary to reinforce public confidence, stressing that full cooperation will be given to any inquiry conducted, reassuring his supporters to remain calm.
“I will make myself available for any investigation so that our names will be cleared, so that everybody will have confidence in the system.
“We don’t have anything to hide, so we will make ourselves available to respond to whatever investigation they want to conduct,” he pointed out.
Baba Jamal affirmed his commitment to continue support wherever deemed suitable to advocate for President John Dramani Mahama “resetting Ghana agenda”
