Ghana is set to revolutionize its industrial sector with the adoption of drone and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, emphasized the government’s commitment to harnessing these emerging technologies to drive economic growth, job creation, and export competitiveness.

Speaking at the Drone Ignite Africa Summit 2026, Mr. Ahi highlighted the potential of drones and AI in transforming key sectors such as agriculture, mining, infrastructure development, environmental protection, and public safety.

He stressed that Ghana is determined to transition from being a technology consumer to a creator and exporter, leveraging regulatory clarity, innovation financing, and regional collaboration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Mr. Ahi called on stakeholders to collaborate with the government in building a technology-driven industrial ecosystem.
