The Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that foreign ministers across Africa are requesting the traditional fugu design in their respective national colours.
Speaking to the media, he emphasised that both the foreign ministers and their presidents have expressed a strong interest in acquiring the fugu for their upcoming meeting.
He noted a growing continental appreciation for Ghanaian culture, which has led to increased demand for this traditional attire.
He encouraged young entrepreneurs and fugu weavers to capitalise on this opportunity.
“The fugu is in such high demand and I hope that our young entrepreneurs and fugu weavers will take full advantage of that.
If I had known that it was in such high demand, I would have gone with a load of trucks.” He uttered.
He assured that he would fulfil the requests made by the ministers, highlighting that they want them in their national colours, and that is the special assignment they have given him.
