Entertainment personality, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has described former President Nana Akufo-Addo as “evil,” citing his experiences under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Speaking in an interview on JoyPrime, Bullgod explained that his criticism stems from his losses in the collapse of gold dealership company Menzgold Ghana Limited and the harassment he faced for speaking out.
“What really put me off was Akufo-Addo, he was just evil during his eight years in power,” Bullgod said.
He recalled that after publicly stating that the government needed to pay outstanding funds before the end of its term, he was arrested on allegations of threatening the President.
“I said he needed to pay the money before he finished his term, if not that he won’t finish his term, he would run away.”
Bullgod spent three days in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations, (BNI) now the National Intelligence Bureau, describing the experience as harrowing and highlighting the agency’s limited jurisdiction.
The media personality revealed that he lost GH¢1 million due to his association with Menzgold and its CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1). He expressed disbelief at the government’s actions following the company’s shutdown.
“They just come and shut the company down, there are customers you didn’t pay them off, you know we lost our money,” he said.
“Some lost their lives, others were crippled, and many marriages broke apart, it never made sense,” he added .
Bullgod concluded with a firm statement, insisting that he would repeat his criticism if he met the former President.
“If I meet Akufo-Addo, I will still tell him to his face that he is evil and that he will suffer before he dies.”
