Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, John Setor Dumelo has announced a free distribution program of Ghana-made cocoa drinks for public basic school pupils in his constituency.
In a statement issued by the MP on Thursday February 19, 2026, he noted that starting March 2, pupils from Class 1 to Class 4 will receive the nutritious drinks once a week until the end of the year.
Mr. Dumelo explained that the initiative aims to promote health benefits, boost the local cocoa industry, and enhance school attendance.
According to the MP, cocoa drinks are rich in antioxidants, iron, and magnesium, supporting cognitive development and energy levels in children.
The program will use exclusively Ghana-made products to support cocoa farmers and local manufacturers.
The project also seeks to foster national pride, encouraging children to appreciate Ghana’s heritage.
Mr. Dumelo described the program as a testament to the belief that “a healthy child is a teachable child,” aiming to build a stronger, healthier, and smarter future for Ayawaso West Wuogon.
