Security Consultant, Richard Kumadoe, has sounded a note of caution amidst ongoing discussions about the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
Kumadoe, also a fraud prevention expert, emphasized that changing the name of the BNI could be counterproductive, given its national significance and recognition.
He urged politicians lacking national security expertise to avoid interfering with security intelligence institutions and refrain from commenting on sensitive issues.
Kumadoe’s comments come as Ghana debates institutional changes and the role of security agencies.
“The BNI brand has national significance; altering it warrants justification,” he noted.
