A Kenyan woman identified as Ms Choice Gatwiri, who recently trended online after appearing in a viral video with a Russian man known as Yaytseslav, has taken an HIV test live on camera.
In a new video circulating on social media, Ms Gatwiri is seen undergoing the test, after the earlier footage sparked widespread discussion online. The original video, which showed her pleading with the Russian national to take her to Russia, drew mixed reactions across various platforms.
Following the test, she appeared visibly relieved and happy after the result came out negative.
The development has generated further debate on social media, with many users sharing opinions about the timing of the test and the need for continued medical follow-up. Some commenters noted that testing immediately after exposure may not always give a conclusive result.
“It’s even too early to see positive HIV result now, be there,” one user wrote.
Another commented, “It can take about four years for clinical signs of HIV/AIDS to manifest.”
Health professionals generally advise that individuals who may have been exposed to HIV undergo follow-up testing after the recommended window period for accurate results.
