Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured Ghanaians that the senior women’s national football team the Black Queens are safe and doing well.
In a social media statement on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the Minister confirmed the situation after engaging with the team’s leadership.
“Ghana’s celebrated Black Queens are safe and doing well. “I have spoken with the leadership of the team,” Mr. Ablakwa said.
According to him, Ghana’s diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) has been in close contact with the Black Queens, providing much consular support.
He reaffirmed government commitment in safeguarding Ghanaians during this turbulent moment.
“In this turbulent moment, the safety and welfare of all Ghanaians, particularly those currently in the Middle East, remain our utmost priority,” the Minister assured.
