President John Dramani Mahama has called on the youth to utilize smartphones and modern tools for education, creativity, and business.
Speaking at the 69th Independence Day celebration at the forecourt of the Jubilee House on Friday, March 6, 2026, he underscored that enhancing digital infrastructure and reforming education remain part of the government’s commitment to equip the youth.
In an effort to ease youth frustration, President Mahama noted government plans to invest in digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship programs, and innovation hubs nationwide, noting the leverage of digital tools in creating significant opportunities for the youth.
“In your hands, a smartphone transforms into a classroom, in your hands, a smartphone transforms into a business platform, in your hands a smartphone transforms into a creative studio and gateway to the global economy,” he stated.
He indicated that the expansion of internship opportunities will bridge the gap between education and employment.
“But success will depend on discipline, resilience, and excellence. Let me give you sound advice, the future belongs to those who prepare for it,” he added.
