One person was confirmed dead in a road traffic collision at Teacher Mantey, a suburb of Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
A Facebook post sighted from the Ghana National Fire Service said the accident happened in the early hours of the fateful day.
According to the report, Personnel from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service, responding to the incident with a six-member rescue team led by ADOII Ocansey Bright, arrived at the scene to find a Toyota Voxy crashed into a parked MAN Diesel truck.
Firefighters conducted a rescue operation and retrieved the body of a male occupant trapped in the Voxy and subsequently handed it over to the police for further investigations and preservation.
Eyewitness accounts alleged that the Toyota Voxy was overspeeding when it rammed into the parked Man Diesel truck along the highway.
”Eyewitnesses indicated that the Toyota Voxy, allegedly overspeeding, ran into the stationary truck, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged. The crew later cleared the scene and returned safely to base.”
