The Bono East Regional Police Command has arrested a rickshaw rider, Robert Tannor, for allegedly possessing three hundred and ninety-seven (397) slabs of dried plant materials, suspected to be cannabis.
In a police statement, the arrest took place at 2pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026, following an accident involving an unregistered Motor King tricycle popularly known as “Aboboya,” near Techiman Methodist Park.

The Police noted that the suspect was carrying fourteen (14) bags of charcoal when the tricycle ran into a stationary Kia Rhino Truck, while responding to the accident, the Police discovered compressed suspected cannabis in a charcoal bag, with “a total of 397 slabs retrieved from the scene.”

According to the police, the suspect rider, who sustained severe leg injuries, was rushed to Holy Family Hospital Techiman for treatment and placed under police guard.

Police indicated that the driver of the Kia Rhino sped off from the accident scene, however, the Police are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the Kia Rhino Truck driver to assist in the investigation.
