Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has reacted to the ongoing criticism from some media personalities directed at Sarkodie over discussions surrounding his upcoming concert at the O2 Arena.

In a video circulating online, Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. expressed surprise at comments made by Ghanaian Music executive and founder of GB records, George Britton on the matter.

According to the dancehall artiste, the same kind of criticism currently being directed at Sarkodie is something he has endured for years without receiving support from industry players or commentators.

“Today you, George Britton, you know how to fix a camera and speak against these things; we shouldn’t be hypocrites. When they were doing it to me, you all were quiet,” Shatta Wale said.

He further claimed that many people in the media often sat on radio and television platforms to downplay his achievements and ridicule his efforts without any pushback from others in the industry.

“They sit on radio and TV to downplay my achievements; they trashed my efforts and looked down on my achievements, and none of you spoke up,” he added.

Shatta Wale noted that while he faced such criticism in the past, no one publicly defended him, but now that similar comments are being made about another top artiste, some people have begun to speak out.
