Musician Shatta Wale has hinted that he may contest the Ablekuma South parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections if calls from the public continue to grow.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the award winning artiste affirmed that he would only enter politics if people strongly encouraged him to do so.
“I will consider entering politics if the people call on me, but it won’t be for wealth. My goal would be to serve and help the people,” he said.
The musician also stated that if he decides to contest, he will run as an independent candidate and not represent any political party.
“I do not want to belong to any political party. If I ever contest, it would be as an independent candidate. I will consider it if the calls become stronger by 2028,” he added.
Shatta Wale further noted that his interest in politics would be driven by policies aimed at improving the country, adding that Ghana needs to move forward and consider new ideas for development.
