President John Dramani Mahama has expressed concern over escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, warning that the conflict in the Middle East is not only affecting the region but also having serious implications for the entire world.

Speaking at the presidential iftar on Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Presidency, Mr. Mahama noted that while Ghana enjoys peace and stability, many parts of the world are currently facing conflict and uncertainty.

He appealed to citizens to pray for the nation, for its leaders, and for regions afflicted by war, especially the Middle East.

“The conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran is affecting not only the Middle East; it is affecting the whole world,” Mr. Mahama said.

He urged prayers that Allah touches the hearts of those involved and brings peace to the people in the region.

The President emphasized the Quran’s guidance on unity, quoting, “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah, all together, and do not become divided.”

He said this principle reminds Ghanaians that they are one people and that fighting and division are unnecessary.

“Unity, solidarity, and faith will continue to guide us as we work together for the progress of our beloved nation,” Mr. Mahama added.

President Mahama also reflected on the significance of Ramadan as a period of moral renewal, discipline, and spiritual reflection.

He encouraged Ghanaians to use the holy month to pray for justice, generosity, and peace at home and abroad.

“During this holy month, let us remember that our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of compassion strengthen our communities and reflect the true spirit of Ramadan,” the President said.

Concluding his address, Mahama prayed that Allah accepts the good deeds of all, blesses Ghana with peace, unity, and prosperity, and records everyone’s good deeds in Jannat ul-Firdaus.

He wished all Ghanaians a blessed Ramadan.
