The Human Trafficking Secretariat (HTS) of Ghana’s Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has organized a comprehensive training session for selected ministry staff to enhance their capabilities in combating human trafficking.

The training, held in collaboration with law firm Zoe, Akyea & Co., aimed to equip staff with practical knowledge on the nature, causes, and consequences of human trafficking, as well as the application of the 4Ps framework – Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, and Partnership.

Madam Abena Annobea Asare, Head of the Human Trafficking Secretariat, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating that it would empower staff to identify, prevent, and respond to trafficking cases effectively.

The training covered national and international legal frameworks governing human trafficking, prosecution processes, and victims’ rights, with interactive presentations and case studies.

The Ministry aims to strengthen its approach to tackling human trafficking through informed decision-making and inter-departmental coordination.
