Prominent Ghanaian journalist, communication specialist, and political strategist Stanislav Xoese Dogbe has paid glowing tribute to his mentor, Mawuko Afadzinu, in a heartfelt Facebook post shared on March 24, 2026.
In the post, Mr. Dogbe expressed deep appreciation to Afadzinu, who is a distinguished sports administrator and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee of the International Table Tennis Federation, for the instrumental role he has played in shaping his life and career.
“This man! I owe a lot of who I am today to him,” Dogbe wrote, while also acknowledging that he missed Afadzinu’s 60th birthday celebration. I missed his big 60-day, where I would have paid my dues to him in words,” he captioned.
Reflecting on their relationship, he described Afadzinu as more than just a lecturer, noting that he became a “big brother” and a guiding figure in his life.
He credited him with introducing him to key aspects of the media and communications industry, including radio programme production, event organisation, and hands-on experience in public relations and advertising through firms such as Sambus Limited and Gateway Computers.
Mr. Dogbe further revealed that Afadzinu played a crucial role in his career breakthrough. According to him, he, alongside Sena Atoklo and later Michael Oti Adjei, was guided by Afadzinu to join Joy FM, a move he described as pivotal in their professional journeys.
“And the rest, they say, is history,” he added.
He concluded the tribute with warm birthday wishes, describing Afadzinu as a “true guide” whose influence continues to impact many within and beyond Ghana’s media landscape.
