Plans for this weekend’s celebration of life concert, a second funeral for music legend Charles Kwadjo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have hit a major setback after the Court temporarily halted the proceedings.
Former family head, Kofi Owusu, through his lawyers, filed an interlocutory injunction requesting the court to stop the second funeral from taking place.
During proceedings on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the trial judge stated that he needed more time to carefully examine the full merits of the case before delivering a final decision.
He, therefore, urged the family to postpone the second funeral, which had been scheduled for this weekend.
The disappointment was clear on the faces of Daddy Lumba’s wife. Akosua Serwaa and some family members, who had been seeking clearance to hold the event.
