Three people have been killed, and one is in critical condition, in a spate of violent attacks linked to landguards at Banka-Busufise, a suburb of Ashalaja, in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the Assemblyman for Ashalaja Electoral Area, Gilbert Kwame Afeke, two victims were beheaded and their bodies dumped in an uncompleted building, while another was shot and a fourth stabbed in a nearby bush.
One person is in critical condition and is receiving treatment.
The attacks are believed to be connected to the activities of landguards operating in the area.
The Assemblyman criticized the police for failing to respond adequately to earlier reports and is calling on authorities to intervene urgently to prevent further loss of life.
A resident expressed shock and fear, stating that a dead body was found in an uncompleted building behind her residence, suspected to have been beheaded elsewhere and dumped there.
The incidents, which occurred within three weeks, have left residents fearing for their safety.
Residents are demanding action from the Inspector-General of Police and other authorities to address the situation.
