Three worshipers, two females and a male, have died after a four-storey building at the Experimental D/A School, Accra Newtown collapsed on them, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has cinfirmed.
Some 20 others who were also trapped in the collapsed structure, were successfully rescued and conveyed to various health facilities for treatment.
A total of 23 persons-15 females and 8 males- including 3 minors, were trapped in structure when it collapsed at about 5pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Through the swift and dedicated efforts of GNFS rescuers and partner agencies, 20 persons were successfully rescued and conveyed to various health facilities for treatment.
Three bodies were pullled from the rubble and have been handed over to the Police for preservation and further investigation.
Rescue and security teams remain on scene to complete debris clearing and ensure safety.
