Gospel musician, Florence Obinim, has revealed that while she has not yet considered collaborating with a secular artiste, if given the opportunity, she would choose dancehall star Shatta Wale.
During an interview, Mrs. Obinim explained her reasons, noting that Shatta Wale’s generosity and encouragement toward his fans have impressed her over the years.
“I haven’t planned for that, and it’s not something on my radar, but if I had to choose one person, I would go with Shatta Wale. If given the chance, I would love to collaborate with him,” she said.
She further highlighted the qualities that have earned her admiration for the dancehall artiste.
“I admire Shatta Wale for how he encourages his fans to pray and for his generosity toward the needy. Those qualities have made me like him from his early days,” Florence added.
She also addressed concerns from some in the gospel fraternity who argue that secular artistes’ mission does not align with that of gospel singers. She emphasized that personal choices should not be judged by others.
“I’m very open to working with him if he reaches out, because at the end of the day, we’re all human. No one has the right to judge anyone; on judgment day, he will be judged for his actions, and I will be judged for mine,” she stated.
