The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has denied claims that it has invested GH¢9 million to produce turkey berries in a project.
According to the Agency, the purported reportage is “entirely false.”
In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs at YEA, Suadique Musah, no such project exists.
He added that “What existed was a proposed training programme to equip youth with skills in turkey berry production and value addition. It was NOT farming by the Agency.”
Mr. Musah clarified that although commitment authorisation was secured, which is merely approval in principle, not expenditure.
He emphasised the fact of the matter and stated that “the programme was never executed” as “no contracts were awarded, and not a single cedi was paid.”
