Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang joined the people of the Sokpoe Traditional Area in the South Tongu District to mark the 40th Tortsogbeza Festival, on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
She conveyed warm greetings on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and commended the Traditional Council, chiefs, and elders for their leadership and unity.
The Vice President highlighted the significance of the festival in promoting heritage, communal identity, and collective progress, particularly within a district that serves as a gateway to the Volta Region.
She acknowledged key concerns of the community, including recovery efforts following the 2023 floods, road infrastructure, and logistical support for traditional authorities.
Reaffirming government’s commitment, she assured that critical areas such as road development and healthcare delivery would receive the needed attention, while commending ongoing efforts to improve health facilities in the area.
She further encouraged unity and collaboration, emphasizing that sustainable development is best achieved through shared purpose, while urging patience as Government advances its broader infrastructure agenda.
