The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested four (4) suspects and recovered twenty-one (21) suspected stolen mobile phones at Kasoa in the Central Region.
According to a police statement, a team from the Kasoa Divisional Police undertook a special patrol operation as part of efforts to ensure a crime-free Easter celebration.
During a “stop-and-search” exercise along the Kasoa–Ofaakor–Bawjiase–Swedru road on Monday, April 6, 2026, police intercepted a Toyota Hiace vehicle with registration number GB 6246-22 at about 3:45 a.m.
Upon inspection, the police discovered several mobile phones believed to have been stolen.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had engaged in a mobile phone theft spree at Agona Swedru during the Easter festivities, allegedly stealing twenty-one (21) phones of various brands from celebrants whose identities are yet to be established.
The suspects are currently in custody assisting with further investigations and will be processed for prosecution.
The recovered phones have been retained as exhibits, and victims of theft are advised to visit the Kasoa Divisional Police Command to identify and reclaim their belongings.
The Regional Command commended the officers involved in the operation and encouraged them to intensify such patrols to ensure the public enjoys crime-free celebrations during and beyond the festive season.
