Prioritise state farms to spur Ghana’s economic growth – Okoh Agyemang

The Founder and leader of the 7th Day Living Yahweh Assemblies, Apostle Philemon Okoh Agyemang, has called on the government to prioritise the establishment of state farms as a means to boost the national economy and reduce unemployment.

Speaking to the media on April 5, 2026, during a Passover and Charity Show held at Odogono Senior High School, he stressed that farming remains a critical pillar for Ghana’s economic growth and highlighted the need to engage the Ghanaian youth.

He noted that engaging the youth in agriculture would not only boost the economy and strengthen food security but also create sustainable jobs.

“As a nation, we must prioritise farming and engage the youth in farming. But because we have failed as a nation, the youth are no more interested in farming,” he lamented.

Apostle Okoh Agyemang emphasised that building state farms with incentives would rekindle the interest among young people and restore confidence in agriculture as a viable career path.

He urged policymakers of the government to keenly consider taking bold steps in making farming attractive through investment, training, and incentives.

Apostle Okoh Agyemang further explained some reasons for celebrating the passover, as God gave His beloved Son to save the world, the church must also give back to society.

He referenced (James 1:27), which emphasizes caring for vulnerable people, specifically orphans and widows in their distress, and maintaining moral purity by remaining uncorrupted by the world.

He explained that this is why the church has chosen to reach out to the vulnerable, poor, and needy, offering them some items of support.

According to him, this act of kindness is a regular practice carried out twice each year to assist those in need.
