The Chief Fire Officer of the Netherlands, Mr. Johan Tuitert, is in Ghana to assess the country’s fire outbreak situation, particularly in markets, and explore ways to support Ghana’s fire safety efforts.
During a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, led by Ghana’s Chief Fire Officer, Madam Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, the Minister expressed gratitude for Mr. Tuitert’s visit, saying it would open doors for sharing best practices, collaboration, training, and logistics.
Mr. Muntaka emphasized the importance of training for security officers, given the fast pace of technological advancement globally, and wished Mr. Tuitert a successful visit, hoping for recommendations to address fire outbreaks in Ghana, especially in markets.
Mr. Tuitert, a highly experienced fire service professional with over 40 years of service, is skilled in solving complex operational challenges and focused on long-term, sustainable solutions, as well as strategic and operational planning.
