A national Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has criticized Mustapha Hamid for his intention of vying for Vice Chairman position of the NPP.
He questioned his contributions to the party during the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on Angel FM’s Y’adwumanie show on Thursday, April 16, 2026, he purported that Mustapha Hamid “did not actively participate in the party’s campaign activities for the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahed of the 2024 election.”
He continued that while some national officers were actively engaged in campaigning, Mustapha Hamid was absent from key party activities, including engagements.
Alhaji Masawudu questioned Mustapha Hamid’s visibility during the election period, asking whether he actively appeared on platforms to support the NPP’s 2024 election victory bid.
“Mustapha is notable for his vibrance in politics, but during the 2024 election, did you see Mustapha stand or sit on any platform to campaign for NPP for them to come for power?
“He was busy doing his NPA work,” Alhaji Osman Masawudu alleged.
He also raised concerns about the motives of those now seeking leadership positions within the party, querying their intention to genuinely supporting the NPP or returning for personal gain.
“So they are coming in favour of the future victory of Bawumia, so these sycophants are coming, but we don’t know their minds.
“Are they coming to sabotage or help? Because he relaxed without helping the party, and today you want to vie for a position. How dare you,” he called out.
