The Ghana Tourism Authority has commenced an inspection and licence renewal exercise for all food, beverage and entertainment enterprises across Greater Accra Region.
In a statement issued by the Authority, the exercise, which began on Monday, April 20, 2026, forms part of ongoing regulatory efforts to ensure strict compliance with public health, safety and operational standards, while safeguarding the wellbeing of patrons and the general public.
The statement revealed that the exercise will cover a wide range of operators, including traditional catering enterprises (chop bars), food vendors, drinking bars, pubs, fast food joints, snack bars as well as outdoor catering services.
According to the statement, operators have been urged to cooperate fully with inspectors from the Ghana Tourism Authority, who will carry valid identification cards for verification throughout the exercise.
“Official inspectors will carry valid identification cards for verification purposes,” the statement said.
The statement further indicated that operators are expected to ensure that all licences and relevant operational documents are updated ahead of the inspection process.
“All operators are respectfully urged to cooperate fully with inspectors from the Ghana Tourism Authority throughout the exercise,” the statement added.
