The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of a man who appeared in a viral video wearing a mask and threatening to kill security officers over the arrest of armed robbers.
The suspect, identified as Opoku Emmanuel, was apprehended on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District.
His arrest was carried out through a joint operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) and the Jacobu Police.
According to the police, Emmanuel is currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be put before the court.
In the said viral social media video, the suspect warned that he would kill any security officer who attempted to confront him during efforts to arrest armed robbers.
