Six cyclists from the Ride Afrique Pro Team have been confirmed to participate in the upcoming 2026 Tour Du Togo.

The Tour Du Togo is an international cycling event sanctioned by the International Cycling Union, with this year’s race scheduled from May 16 to 23, 2026, in Lome.

The Ride Afrique Pro Team includes Humphrey Kofi Ayittey, Nuru Pardie, Michael Brownson, Fransford Ampiaw, Kustin Bright, and Alex Quansah.

The team will also be led by Mr. Doe Dzakpasu as leader delegate, Nat Agoe as Coach, and Prince Kwame Tetteh as team Mechanic.

In an interview, the CEO of Ride Afrique, Mr. Richard Agu, disclosed that their participation in the event aligns with their long-term vision and mission for African cycling. According to him, “This is bigger than simply attending a race. For us, Tour du Togo represents continental representation, African unity through sport, athlete development, international exposure for our riders, building a respected African cycling institution, and creating opportunities for young African talent.”

He indicated that their expectation is to compete with professionalism, discipline, and pride. “We are entering the race not only as competitors but as ambassadors of a growing Pan-African movement that believes African cycling deserves greater visibility and investment,” he stated.

He continued, “Secondly, we want our riders to gain valuable international racing experience. Events like Tour du Togo expose athletes to higher levels of competition, tactical racing, endurance demands, and team structure. That experience is critical for long-term development.”

Mr. Agu stressed that their expectations are targeted at strengthening relationships across African cycling communities, as well as improving athlete empowerment.

“One of the core missions of Ride Afrique is to connect African nations through cycling, culture, and youth empowerment. Participating in races across the continent helps us build those bridges,” he said.

“Ride Afrique was created to move beyond organizing events alone. We are building an ecosystem that includes athlete development, international competition, youth inspiration, cycling culture, and African representation on the global stage,” he added.

“We hope this is only the beginning of a much larger journey that will eventually see Ride Afrique competing across Africa and internationally while continuing to inspire the next generation of African cyclists,” he noted.
