Broadcast journalist Mubarak Yakubu has been honoured with the National Reporter of the Year award in recognition of his dedication, sacrifice, and contribution to journalism in Ghana.
The award, presented by the Foklex Media Awards, celebrates years of hard work and impactful reporting across the country.

Reflecting on his journey, Mubarak Yakubu recounted how he travelled to villages and remote communities to report on issues affecting ordinary Ghanaians, including access to clean drinking water and challenges facing rural areas.
According to him, his journalism career was built through persistence and commitment, reporting from trotros, covering political stories, demonstrations, fire outbreaks, serious chaos, and dangerous red-zone areas to ensure the public stayed informed.

The award-winning journalist expressed gratitude to individuals who played significant roles in shaping his career.
He specially thanked Dr. Dabone Atta Snr for the continuous support and encouragement throughout the years.
Mubarak Yakubu also acknowledged his former News Editor, Samuel Nii Narku Dowuona, for believing in him and giving him opportunities in radio journalism.

He further paid tribute to Afia Pokuaa, popularly known as Vim Lady, for giving him the opportunity to join Adom FM as an intern and instilling discipline and professionalism in him during his early days in the media industry.
The journalist also expressed appreciation to Kofi Adomah for the encouragement and support over the years, saying the veteran broadcaster always saw potential in him and helped shine light on his name.
Over the years, Mubarak Yakubu has worked with several media platforms including Adom FM, where he served as an entertainment producer, news reporter, entertainment contributor, and morning show reporter. He also contributed entertainment segments on Asempa FM.
Currently, he works with Angel FM and Angel TV as a presidential correspondent, news reporter, entertainment producer, and contributor to programmes including the Traffic Situation segment and Angel News.
Mubarak Yakubu thanked everyone who voted, shared his work, and supported his journalism journey over the years.
