Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, former National Service Scheme (NSS) Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi and others are set to appear before court this week.
Their hearings are part of several high-profile cases resuming under the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative from Monday, June 15 to Thursday, June 18.
Chairman Wontumi faces three separate ORAL cases. He is scheduled to appear before Criminal Court 4 at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, in the Samreboi Illegal Mining Case for a Motion on Notice for Leave to Withdraw as Counsel.
The same court will resume the Samreboi case on Wednesday, June 17 at 8:30 a.m. for a deadline on addresses, if any. On Thursday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m., General Jurisdiction 10 will hear Republic versus Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi and two others in the Exim Bank Loan Case.
Former NSS boss Osei Assibey Antwi is due before the High Court at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, in the National Service Case for a Case Management Conference.
Another former National Service official, Gifty Oware Mensah, will also appear before Criminal Court 4 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, for cross-examination of the 1st Prosecution Witness in a separate National Service case.
Other ORAL cases scheduled this week include Republic versus Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba and another in the Buffer Stock Case before the Specialized Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday for completion of Case Management Conference, and Republic versus Kwabena Adu Boahene & 2 others linked to the Cybersecurity software scandal before Specialized Court 1 at 10:00 a.m. Monday for completion of cross-examination of the 3rd Prosecution Witness.
Criminal Court 1 will also hear Republic versus Akonta Mining and three others in the Tano-Nimiri Forest Reserve Mining Case at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for cross-examination of the 3rd Prosecution Witness.
