New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator Ellen Ama Daaku has called for the dismissal and arrest of a Bole Senior High School teacher over a viral video allegedly showing sexual misconduct with a student in the school’s science laboratory.
Speaking on the Angel FM’s ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ’ on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Ms. Daaku, who is also an aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia condemned the incident and urged Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu to act.
She noted that although the person in the video is said to be a past student, the teacher’s actions remain inappropriate and damaging to the integrity of the teaching profession. “Students are brought to teachers to learn, not for this kind of relationship,” she said.
Ms. Daaku argued that there was no need for lengthy investigations, insisting the ministry should issue a dismissal letter and hand the teacher over to law enforcement.
She added that even in some universities and private institutions, relationships between staff and students are prohibited, making the conduct indefensible.
She also advised parents to educate their wards about the dangers of inappropriate teacher-student relationships, warning that such incidents undermine trust in the educational system.
