The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disowned a viral notice claiming that heavy rains on Monday, June 30, 2026, swept away most WASSCE examination papers and forced a re-write, warning students and parents not to be misled.

The graphic, circulating on social media with GES and WAEC logos, alleged that floodwaters had destroyed exam papers and that GES was “considering the option of re-writing the affected papers,” with a new timetable to be released later. It was dated July 1, 2026 and signed “Management, Ghana Education Service.”

GES has cautioned the public, parents, students, and stakeholders to disregard the notice and rely only on official GES and WAEC communication channels for updates on the ongoing WASSCE examinations.

The service has urged students to remain calm and continue preparing for their papers as scheduled, and to verify any examination-related information through school authorities or official GES/WAEC platforms.
