A disturbing incident has been reported at Anyinamso No.1 in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, where an unidentified woman believed to be about 27 years old has been found dead in a bush.
The body was discovered hanging from a rope tied to a tree, according to local accounts. Residents say the remains may have been in the bush for about three days before being found.
Authorities and community leaders subsequently moved the body and conducted a burial involving traditional leaders, officials from the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Mpasatia Police Command.
Police have confirmed that investigations are underway to determine both the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death.
Officials say the cause of death is yet to be established as forensic and investigative processes continue.
The incident has triggered fear and anxiety among residents in the area, with many calling for urgent answers.
Traditional leaders have urged the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the deceased.
They are also appealing to families whose daughters may have gone missing in the past three days to report to the palace for possible identification, where they can be shown the burial site.
The Mpasatia Police Command has also called on the public to assist investigations by sharing any credible information that may help resolve the case.
