Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy has reaffirmed his deep admiration for his mentor and godfather, Samini, stating that no circumstance could ever cause him to hold resentment against the veteran artiste.
During a live TikTok broadcast, Stonebwoy looked back on the beginning of his music journey, explaining how Samini became instrumental in his rise by embracing him and helping him establish himself in the industry.
The BHIM Nation leader revealed that he first crossed paths with Samini while he was still a senior high school student. At the time, he was told that once he completed his education, he would be welcomed into the camp to pursue his musical ambitions.
Stonebwoy recounted that after graduating from senior high school, Samini kept his promise by taking him into his fold and treating him like family.
He said that experience is the reason he refers to the celebrated musician as his elder brother instead of simply calling him a mentor.
The award-winning performer further emphasized that the respect and affection he has for Samini are unwavering, insisting that no action or situation, whether favourable or otherwise, could ever alter how he feels about him.
Reflecting on how their relationship began, Stonebwoy said;
“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother.”
He continued, “He is someone in my life. He cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad.”
