Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Dr. Mary Awusi, has reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to positioning Ghana as the preferred destination for export-led industrialisation.
Dr. Awusi made the remarks on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, when she participated as a Special Guest at the opening ceremony of the 7th Ghana Investment and Trade Week at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra. She was joined by her Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance & Administration), Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah.

Speaking at the event organised by Middle East International Exhibition Events under the theme “Powering Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy for Investment and Trade Competitiveness,” Dr. Awusi commended the organisers for bringing together policymakers, investors, and development partners to discuss strategic partnerships for industrial growth and sustainable development.

She said the summit’s theme reflects a shared ambition to build a productive and globally competitive economy supported by modern infrastructure, reliable energy, efficient logistics, and a vibrant private sector.

Dr. Awusi emphasised that this vision aligns with the mandate of the Ghana Free Zones Authority to create an enabling environment that attracts export-oriented investment, promotes value addition, supports industrialisation, and creates sustainable employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

“We reaffirm the Authority’s unwavering commitment to working closely with Government, investors, and development partners to position Ghana as the preferred destination for export-led industrialisation and to support the successful implementation of the Government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda,” she stated.
The 7th Ghana Investment and Trade Week runs from July 7 to 9, 2026.
