The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei North Constituency, Theresa Lardi Awuni, has presented relief support to 1,210 flood victims following the June 29 heavy downpour
According to her, the relief efforts are part of ongoing disaster recovery initiatives across flood-prone areas within the constituency.

Addressing residents during the presentation at the Alogboshie Durbar Grounds in Accra today, Theresa Lardi Awuni, aka _Obaanoa_, expressed sympathy to all families and individuals affected by the floods, and assured them of continued support as recovery efforts progress.
She said her thoughts remain with all affected families during this difficult period and that she is committed to supporting her people as they recover from the devastating impact of the floods.

She distributed mattresses, bags of rice, cooking oil, and cash, and also presented school uniforms to pupils in the Alogboshie cluster schools to aid affected families as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives and recovering from the disaster.

She urged residents living along waterways, in flood-prone areas, and in wetlands to take proactive measures to relocate to safer locations in order to reduce the risk of future disasters.
She also emphasised the importance of securing the necessary building permits before undertaking construction projects to ensure compliance with planning regulations and environmental standards.

Awuni commended NADMO officials for their swift response and coordination efforts following the disaster, noting that their intervention had helped provide immediate assistance to affected communities.
