Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has said that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) unanimously agreed on the appointment of Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his running mate.
The former President announced after a NEC meeting on Monday afternoon that he has decided to go into the 2020 elections with the former UCC Vice Chancellor as his running mate.
The announcement was met with mixed feelings from the rank and file of the NDC party.
However, the former President in a Facebook post maintained that he did not just select Prof Opoku Agyemang as his running mate.
He said the party leadership unanimously agreed that the party goes into the 2020 election with Jane as his partner.
“The National Executive Committee of our great party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) this afternoon, unanimously, endorsed my nomination of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my Running Mate for the December 2020 election.
